The 2026 Fairmont High School Athletic Hall of Fame class will officially be inducted this weekend. The nine-member class includes Jack Houfer, Marlene Ditzler, Nick Lardy, Brent Schultze, Brandon Thiesse, Angie Toothaker, Megan Sandhurst, Matt Reeve and Sam D’Amico. The inductees will be recognized during halftime of tonight’s Fairmont football home opener against Austin. The banquet will be held Saturday at 5 p.m. in the Fairmont High School Performing Arts Center. The event is free and open to the public. The Hall of Fame recognizes not only outstanding athletes, but also coaches and contributors who have made a lasting impact on Fairmont athletics. The Fairmont Athletic Hall of Fame was established in 1989 by longtime coach and athletic director Tom Mahoney Sr. A nine-person committee continues to select inductees from three categories: athletes, coaches and special contributors.
