The Minnesota Senate on Monday announced committee assignments for the upcoming 2021-2022 legislative session. In addition to once again serving as chairwoman of the Senate Finance Committee, Senator Julie Rosen (R-Fairmont) will continue to serve on the committees for Health and Human Services. She will also become a member of the Senate’s new Housing Committee.

“It is an honor my colleagues have once again trusted me to serve as chair of the Finance Committee,” said Sen. Rosen. “The role is going to be more important next year than it has been in a decade. The coronavirus pandemic has upended our economy and blown a substantial hole in our state budget, and it is going to require both creativity and tough decision making to close the shortfall. I am confident that by working together we will deliver a budget that protects Minnesotans and delivers the important services that people depend on.”

“I am also eager to continue working on health and human service issues, as well as the new housing committee,” added Sen. Rosen. “These are two subjects that are incredibly important, particularly to low- and middle-income families. I look forward to continuing our progress on making both more affordable.”
