A local response in a time of tremendous need!In response to the needs created by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Martin County Area Foundation (MCAF) has developed the “Martin County COVID-19 EmergencyResponse Fund” to collect charitable donations from the community and disburse themas grants to nonprofit organizations or local governments addressing the impacts of theCOVID-19 pandemic in Martin County, Minnesota.

What types of support will the Fund provide?The Fund has already started to make a difference in Martin County. Thanks to a generous lead gift from the​​ Schmeeckle Foundation, $150,000 of emergency support is beginning to be deployed to local early childcare providers, food shelves, and healthcare workers.

MCAF will use the Fund to support other community priorities as well, by making grantsto nonprofits and local units of government to:assist disproportionately affected communitiesmeet immediate needs of economically vulnerable populationsrespond to the increased demands placed on stressed social support systemsand public services.

Please Note: The Martin County Area Foundation will provide a dollar-for-dollarmatch to the first $30,000 in donations made to the COVID-19 EmergencyResponse Fund by Friday May 15th.
