Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont recently awarded a $1,500 Hometown Health Grant to Fairmont Junior/Senior High School, which will be used to develop “Wellness Rooms” to support students’ health and well-being. Wellness Rooms give students the opportunity to take supportive breaks and learn coping strategies so they can focus better in class. Hometown Health Grants support local not-for-profit organizations for projects and initiatives that focus on enhancing general health and wellness, as well as community health education.
