The race for the at-large seat on the Fairmont City Council dropped to a two-way event Wednesday when Jay Maynard filed an affidavit of withdrawal, ending his candidacy for the position. The resulting race pits incumbent Tom Hawkins against challenger Michele Miller in the November 3rd general election.
