It’s  Election  Day today  nationally, regionally, statewide, countywide and city wide. Most Polls in  Minnesota today  open  at 7 AM. The polls in  most Townships in  Martin  County that haven’t gone to Mail Balloting will open at 10 am. Besides local municipalities, school boards and county offices, all 201 legislative seats are up for election this year in Minnesota and the GOP is defending a three-vote majority in the Senate. If Democrats take the Senate and keep their comfortable House majority, they’ll control how Minnesota deals with a projected $4.7 billion budget deficit and the redrawing of state and congressional district maps. The redistricting stakes are high. Minnesota is on the bubble for losing a congressional seat after new census figures come out.Minnesota polls close at 8 PM. Polls in  Iowa close   at 9 PM.  You can hear the votes in  Martin  County counted tonight and then  again  tomorrow morning on 1370 AM  and 97.1 FM KSUM and 106.5 Lakes FM.
