Martin County: 12 cases We are sad to announce two confirmed COVID-19 deaths in Martin County. A person in their 70’s that was previously reported and AN 86 YEAR OLD.

MARTIN COUNTY HAS A TOTAL OF 248 CASES OF THE CORONAVIRUS. 26 ACTIVE CASES.RECOVERED CASES 213. COVID RELATED DEATHS 9.

FARIBAULT COUNTY HAS 116 CONFIRMED CASES. 8 ACTIVE..108 RECOVERED.

WATONWAN COUNTY HAS 443 CONFIRMED CASES. ACTIVE CASES 30. CURRENTLY KNOWN HOSPITALIZED 1. 409 OUT OT ISOLATION. 4 COVID RELATED DEATHS

 

Seven more people have died after contracting the coronavirus in Minnesota, state health officials said Thursday.

Four of the additional deaths included people who were 85 years of age or older, according to the latest COVID-19 statistics in Minnesota. The others who died were ages 50 to 74.

. Three of the deaths were in assisted living or long-term care facilities, officials said.

COVID-19 continues to hit long-term care facilities especially hard. Of 1,837 coronavirus deaths in Minnesota, 1,348 of those deaths have been in assisted living or long-term care settings.

An additional 1,047 new cases were reported Thursday, bringing the total positive cases to 78,123 in Minnesota. Hennepin, Dakota and Ramsey counties had the most new cases. Positive test results in those counties totaled 426.

The Iowa Department of Public Health is reporting the deaths of 9 more Iowans from the coronavirus and 662 more who have tested positive.

The 662 new positive tests push the statewide total to 66,799.  Of those, 48,526 are considered recovered by state health officials.

A total of 1,134 Iowans have died from complications of COVID-19, with 53% of those deaths among resident of long term care facilities in Iowa.  There are currently 29 active outbreaks of COVID-19 at long term care facilities in Iowa.

Currently 323 Iowans are hospitalized, including 88 in the ICU and 41 on ventilators.
