Community Health and Human Services of Martin and Faribault County reported 3 new laboratory confirmed cases of the coronavirus on Wednesday, all 3 are in Martin County.

The number of confirmed cases in Faribault County remains at 64, with 4 active cases all recovering at home.

The 3 new cases in Martin County are a 22 year old, a 20 year old and a 24 year old who are all currently recovering at home.  The total number of confirmed cases in Martin County is now at 179.  There are 8 active cases with one case still hospitalized.

WATONWAN COUNTY HAS 275 confirmed cases. 36 active. 239 recovered. 2 currently known hospitalized.

Minnesota Health Officials are reporting 578 more cases and 8 more coronavirus deaths in the state.

The additional cases bring the state’s total to 43,742, with 38,179 of those recovered and no longer needing isolation.  Five of the state’s deaths involved patients at long term care facilities.

MDH says nearly 12,500 tests were processed in the last 24 hours and 254 patients are currently hospitalized, with 106 in intensive care.  That is the lowest number of ICU patients since April 23rd.

Four more Iowans have died from COVID-19 and the total number of Iowans who have tested positive is now 36,036, an increase of 206 from Tuesday.  Wednesday’s total is one of the lowest daily totals in weeks.

Iowa deaths from COVID-19 now sits at 759, 399 of those deaths have been among residents of long term care facilities.  There are currently 14 outbreaks at Iowa long term care facilities.

There are currently 190 hospitalized patients with the virus in the state, 62 of those are in intensive care with 35 patients on ventilators.
