Minnesota health officials reported on Thursday 1,598 new cases of the coronavirus and 43 more deaths.
According to the Minnesota Department of Health 5,817 people have died because of the virus. A total of 3,716 of those deaths have occurred in long term care facilities.
A total of 441,935 cases have been confirmed in Minnesota since the pandemic began in March of last year. Of those, 420,919 people no longer need to self isolate.
The Iowa Department of Public Health is reporting 19 more COVID-19 deaths in the state and the positive coronavirus tests of another 1,532 Iowans.
The data shows there have been 4,251 total deaths from the coronavirus in the state so far. Of those deaths 1,718 were residents of long term care facilities.
