Minnesota health officials reported today 3,080 new cases of the coronavirus and 22 more deaths.

According to the Minnesota Department of Health, 4,027 people have died because of the virus.  A total of 2,660 of those deaths have occurred in long term care facilities.

A total of 359,203 cases have been confirmed since the pandemic began.  Of those, 314,957 people no longer need to self isolate.

The Iowa Department of Public Health is reporting the positive coronavirus tests of another 1,393 Iowans.

A total of 246,239 Iowans have now tested positive for the coronavirus.  The state considers 168,055 of them to be recovered from the virus.

The state is now reporting that 2,919 Iowans have died from COVID-19.  This sharp increase in the number of deaths from the previous day is due to a change in reporting methods used by the state.  Of those who have died, 1,127 were residents of long term care facilities.

The state reports there were 900 Iowans hospitalized who have tested positive for the virus, an increase of 2 patients from the previous day.  There are 191 patients in the ICU and 111 patients on ventilators.
