Minnesota health officials reported on Tuesday 3,570 new cases of the coronavirus and 22 more deaths.

According to the Minnesota Department of Health, 3,615 people have died because of the virus, with 2,430 of those deaths occurring in long term care facilities.

A total of 322,312 cases have been confirmed in the state since the pandemic began.  Of those, 279,540 people no longer need to self isolate.

The latest numbers from the Iowa Department of Public Health show 24 more Iowans have died from COVID-19 and 1,906 new cases have been reported.

The total number of positive cases is now up to 230,902 and so far there have been 2,427 total deaths from the virus in the state so far.  Of those deaths, 1,069 were residents of long term care facilities.

As of Tuesday morning, there were 1,172 hospitalized patients with the virus in the state, up from 10 on Monday.  Of the hospitalized patients, 235 are in intensive care and 144 of those patient are on ventilators.
