Community Health and Human Services of Martin and Faribault County reported 39 new laboratory confirmed cases of the coronavirus on Tuesday.

In Martin County, 24 new cases were reported, with ages ranging from 2 to 76.  Nome of the new cases are hospitalized and 9 prior reported cases are currently hospitalized.  The total number of confirmed cases in Martin County is 1,002 with 166 active cases.

Of the new cases, 15 were reported in Faribault County, with their ages ranging from 11 to 65.  One new case is hospitalized and 14 prior reported cases are hospitalized.  The number of confirmed cases in the county is 492, with 95 active cases.

The first death from COVID-19 has been reported in Faribault County, a 64 year old man who died from pneumonia complicated by the coronavirus.

Watonwan County has 13 new coronavirus cases. Total confirmed cases 788. Active 67. 4 currently hospitalized.

Minnesota Health Officials reported 6,423 new cases of the coronavirus and 38 more deaths.

According to the Minnesota Department of Health, 3,303 people have died because of the virus.  A total of 2,244 of those deaths have occurred in long term care facilities.

A total of 282,916 cases have been confirmed in the state since the pandemic began in March.  Of those, 233,847 people no longer need to self isolate.

 

The latest numbers from the Iowa Department of Public Health show a dramatic increase in the number of COVID-19 outbreaks at the state’s long term care facilities.  The numbers also reveal 19 more Iowans have died from COVID-19 and 3,860 new cases have been reported.

The number of new positive tests reported brings the total number of positive tests to 215,582.

The data shows there have been 2,224 total deaths from the coronavirus in the state so far.  Of those deaths, 1,008 were residents of long term care facilities.  There are currently outbreaks at 143 long term care facilities in the state.

There are 1,351 hospitalized patients with the virus in the state, an increase of 18 from the previous day.  Of the hospitalized patients, 275 are in intensive care and 155 of those patients are on ventilators
