Minnesota health officials reported on Thursday 3,523 new cases of the coronavirus and 89 more deaths.

According to the Minnesota Department of Health, 4,198 people died because of the virus.  A total of 2,767 of those deaths have occurred in long term care facilities.

A total of 367,218 cases have been confirmed in the state since the pandemic began in March.  Of those, 324,304 people no longer need to self isolate.

The state of Iowa is confirming 99 more deaths related to COVID-19 and the positive test results of another 2,246 Iowans.

A total of 251,028 Iowans have now tested positive, of those, 177,800 people are considered recovered by the state.

The state is now reporting a total of 3,120 Iowans have died from COVID-19 since the pandemic began.  Of those who have died, 1,129 were residents of long term care facilities.

As of Thursday morning, a total of 863 patients were hospitalized in Iowa with the virus, down by 31 patients from the previous day.  Of those patients, 189 were in intensive care units.

The statewide average positive rate for the last two weeks now stands at 15.6%.
