The Fairmont City Council approved a motion authorizing the mayor to sign a grant pre-application checklist for a new T-hangar at the airport. The checklist is required by the FAA as part of the grant process. The project is estimated to cost $1 million, with the city’s share $50,000 after federal and state grants.

In another matter, the council approved a public hearing for Dec. 10 concerning $43,550 for an easement acquisition along County Road 39, in an effort to develop an industrial park at the intersection of County Road 39 and Interstate 90.

Public hearings also were scheduled for Dec. 10 for a tax abatement for Great Plains Transportation Services and for the consideration of a social host ordinance.
