PREUSS MENTIONED OTHER COMMUNITIES HAVE CREATED PROGRAMS SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED FOR CHILD CARE WHICH INCLUDE DIRECT AND FORGIVABLE LOANS FOR NEW PROVIDERS. LINSEY WOULD LIKE TO OFFER PROGRAMS TO EXISTING PROVIDERS AS WELL. F E D A MEMBER TOM HAWKINS BROUGHT UP THE POSSIBILITY OF SUBSIDIES FOR CHILD CARE PROVIDER EMPLOYEES.
LINSEY PRUESS ALSO BROUGHT UP THE 2020 CENSUS AND HOW IMPORTANT IT WAS TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE IS COUNTED. SHE SAID THE CENSUS COUNT THIS YEAR WILL BE ONLINE. IF PEOPLE DON’T RESPOND, CENSUS TAKERS WILL THEN BEGIN KNOCKING ON DOORS SEEKING CORRECT INFORMATION. ALSO DISCUSSED WAS A COLLABORATIVE EFFORT OF F E D A AND H R A TO PROVIDE MORE LOW INCOME HOUSING AIMED TOWARD SENIOR INDEPENDENT LIVING.
