Dan Brookens

Dan has been a part of the Fairmont community for 25 years. In his time at KSUM/KFMC, he’s had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing superstars like Keith Urban, broadcasting state championship events from Minnesota’s storied sporting venues, and giving away more than $100,000 worth of motorcycles, boats, and other prizes.

Dan believes in radio as the voice of the community and that no town is too small to think big. Dan was elected to the Fairmont Area School Board in 2008, where he continues to serve today.

He has also spent time as a volunteer T-Ball and youth soccer coach, and PA announcing for the South Central Hawgs football team and Fairmont Martins baseball team.

Dan and his wife, Jennifer, both graduates of Black Hills State University, live in Fairmont and have two children, a daughter that graduated from Fairmont High School in 2022 and a son who now attends Fairmont High School.
