Following a pair of wins over a highly-ranked opponent, Minnesota State has moved into #2 in the USCHO NCAA Division I men’s hockey poll announced Monday.

 

The Mavericks, who were ranked fifth the two previous weeks, downed Minnesota Duluth twice in Mankato last weekend.  The Bulldogs were rated fourth going in the games with the Mavericks.

 

Minnesota State earned 945 points and 14 first-place votes in this week’s USCHO balloting. The University of Minnesota received 968 points and 31 first-place votes in ranking first in the poll. St. Cloud State, this week’s opponent for the Mavericks, picked up 648 points and one first-place vote and is rated eighth.

 

Minnesota State (3-1-0 overall, 0-0-0 CCHA) faces SCSU Friday and Saturday in St. Cloud.
